Rules for each scout attending the campouts
- In and out of camp in uniform – no exceptions
- Mess kits will be required of all scouts ( mess kit, utensils, cup, and canteen)
- Plates, cups, and utensils in kitchen will be for adults only.
- Dress for weather means minimum of (2) sets of dry clothes, jacket and poncho’s mandatory, extra set of socks, shoes, sweatshirt/jacket, and headgear when necessary.
- Dry set of clothing for sleeping, a bag containing personal hygiene items (toothbrush, soap, towel, hair brush, etc), and your scout handbook is required.
Scouts not complying with above will be asked to return home for missing items and will not be allowed to camp until all of the above items are accounted for.
Reasons for these rules are:
We are all members of Boy Scout Troop 64 and when we are camping we show our scout spirit by wearing our uniform in and out of camp, if a board of review or a scoutmaster conference needs to be performed a scout uniform is mandatory, for all advancement a Boy Scout Handbook is required.
Mess kits, proper dress, and personal hygiene are basic for good camping. Being cold and wet while in the woods can not only be uncomfortable but can also lead to hypothermia. Excessive use of paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils are a waste of money and are bad for the environment.
By following the guidelines above, hopefully, every scout will find each campout a positive enjoyable experience.
